“Every Story Has Roots. Let’s Find Yours.”

Welcome to Our Mammy’s—where we bring Louisiana’s African American history to life through storytelling, genealogy, and hands-on interpretation.  I’m Gaynell Brady—educator and storyteller. At Our Mammy’s, we believe that history is personal. Every family, every tradition carries a story waiting to be told. Inspired by my own ancestors—like my 2nd  great-grandmother Bell Jefferson, a cook in New Orleans—I founded this company to help others discover and honor their own roots.
